Distilling strawberry schnapps requires a lot of skill and experience, as the small nuts in the mash can potentially cause bitterness. To avoid this, the mash is sieved before further processing. During the distillation process, the valuable distillate slowly drips out of the unit. The result is a finely fruity distillate that serves as the basis for the delicious Tyrolean wild strawberry liqueur.
