Spirit
In contrast to schnapps, a spirit is a spirit produced by distilling fruit, root or herbal macerates. In the herbal distillery, we process natural raw materials that are not suitable for mashing - for example, the masterwort, hazelnuts or the Swiss stone pine cones, as a spirit.
For this purpose, the raw materials, which are mostly delivered by farmers in the surrounding area, are steeped in alcohol - the expert refers to this as maceration. Depending on the characteristics of the raw material, this takes from a few days to several months. In the subsequent distillation of the macerate, the spirit is obtained.
