The old farmers enjoyed their house schnapps on a variety of occasions; not least, a stout of original Tyrolean fruit schnapps is an absolute companion to a hearty Tyrolean "Marend" - the quintessential snack with bacon, mountain cheese, mountain root and crusty brown bread, which is traditionally enjoyed in the Alpine region in the afternoon or early evening in a convivial get-together.
This genuine Tyrolean classic is distilled from the mash of sun-ripened apples, Williams pears, plums and apricots. The result is a stylish and intense fruit schnapps, which suits many occasions.
