About the Tyrolean Blueberry Spirit
There are two things that make this blueberry spirit really special: The first is that we use only the small wild blueberries with aromatic purple flesh. Unlike highbush blueberries, they have enough natural flavor to be able to distill a superb spirit from the fruity maceration.
The second is that our team has managed to establish a new refined distillation process for developing the blueberry spirit. This process is much more delicate and makes it possible to significantly enhance the flavor note, which is quite weak at the beginning. The result is a spirit with a subtle fruity flavor and an unbelievable taste. The Tyrolean blueberry spirit is a jewel among spirits that delights both connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
Interesting facts about the little blue berries
The blueberry comes from the heather family. They grow on moors, on sandy ground and in open woodlands. The blue berries are ready for harvest in the late summer months. They are then collected by hand using a blueberry rake.
There are over 100 different species of blueberries but they are generally distinguished by whether they are wild or real and cultivated or highbush blueberries. The real blueberry is small and highly aromatic, not like the large cultivated blueberries, which have a white flesh and are bluish-purple throughout. This natural coloring has been used as a coloring agent for centuries and snacking on these little berries will turn your tongue blue! But natural colors are the most beautiful.
